The queen of the pop, Lady Gaga, was hospitalized on Thursday and canceled her recent shows. Now everyone wants to know what is that severe pain that haunts one of the most influential women in the world.
Lady Gaga, herself had revealed that she had been suffering from Fibromyalgia. In her recent post on Twitter, Gaga shared that she had been taken care of by a team of expert doctors and would be safe in their hands.
She said “I was taken to the hospital. It’s not simply hip pain or wear and tear from tour, I am in severe pain.” Earlier in 2013, she had undergone a hip surgery, but the hospitalization occurred due to severe muscle pain.
What is Fibromyalgia?
It is a disorder characterized by severe musculoskeletal pain. It may also cause fatigue, sleep problems, mood swings and memory issues. Experts observe that the painful sensation occurs due to some faults in producing the pain signals in the brain.
Hereditary, infections and physical or mental trauma are the common causes of this illness. The condition does not possess any preventive medication or remedy, but the intensity of symptoms or pains can be decreased through medications and other treatment methods.
Lady Gaga had announced Joanne World Tour from August to December 2017, and was scheduled to perform in Brazil. She had also shared her journey through this chronic illness in a documentary yet to release on Netflix. Named as Rock in Rio, the performance at Brazil would be done later, according to her Twitter post. She had promised all her fans that she would visit them soon in Brazil.
Famous for high-energy performance and unusual fashion, Lady Gaga had revealed about her drug addiction. She confessed that she needed drugs to keep up the creativity and high-energy. She had also said that she used marijuana to relieve the pain after hip surgery.
Presently through her documentary in Netflix, she wanted to give awareness about the chronic illness of Fibromyalgia. In a Twitter post, she said that she wanted to connect to those people who suffer from the similar disorder and wanted to extend her support to them.
