Hrithik Roshan had a tough 2016 both professionally and personally. His lone release in the year, Mohenjo Daro, turned out to be a disaster while the actor found himself embroiled in a legal battle with actress Kangana Ranaut.
However, the actor made a comeback in 2017 with his latest movie, Kaabil. The movie collected Rs 79.60 crore in the first seven days of release. In an interview with Filmfare, Roshan opened up about how he changed his failures into triumphs.
Roshan, when asked about his divorce and separation from ex-wife Sussanne, said that he had gone through many such hard times in his life.
“Today, I may be termed as a great dancer. But that started off with a doctor saying that I’d never be able to dance in my life. It broke my heart,” he said.
He added that he suffered from rheumatism (any condition marked by inflammation and pain in the muscles or joints) of the knees and scoliosis in his back (abnormal lateral curvature of the spine).
The Bang Bang star also offered a piece of advice to people with depression. He stressed that people with mental health problems should try and reach out for advice and help.
“When your brain goes into dysfunction and you can’t think straight, and you wonder why you’re not feeling good, call up the doctor. Call up your friends, your mom, your dad… sister, brother and tell them I’m not feeling good. Something’s wrong. Reach out,” he said.
He appreciated Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar for publically opening up about their struggle with depression and said they help create awareness about mental illnesses. Padukone has also launched an NGO that supports people going through mental illnesses.
