EOS imaging, a company based in Paris, France, has received CE Mark for its spineEOS, an online 3D planning software for spine surgery. The spineEOS online 3D planning software uses imaging obtained from the company’s EOS system. spineEOS is third “EOSapp” software introduced by the firm, joining its hipEOS and kneeEOS products.
The software helps surgeons utilize 3D imaging provided by the EOS system to develop an optimized treatment strategy to attain improved sagittal alignment for pediatric patients with Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (an abnormal curvature of the spine) and adults experiencing degenerative or deformative spine conditions.
The software basically simulates the results of potential surgeries, designing a 3D model and report of the expected result. sProfessor Brice Ilharreborde at Debré Hospital in Paris and Professor Peter Newton at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego are currently conducting clinical studies using the new software.
